Mental Health Day
Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day is a global mental health awareness and advocacy day against social stigma. It was first celebrated in 1992 with the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health.

1 out of every 5 people today are facing mental health problems in the form of anxiety at the office, depression of lower score, panic pertaining to excessive office work, or some other form. The people are afraid of reaching out for help. The reason is the stigma attached with mental health problems. For so many years, Mental Health Patients have been deprived of their basic human rights. The distress of being labelled as a Mental Health Patient led them to a life no one on the planet deserved. World Mental Health Day aims to spread awareness that like every other illness, mental illness also needs an expert. Like every other health problem, psychiatric problems can also be treated and a patient with mental health disorder can also lead a healthy and happy life.

Mental Health

The fear of being singled out, stigmatized and abused needs to be replaced with faith in the qualified mental health professionals and the general public. Shanti Home Advanced De-addiction, Mental Health Clinic and Psychiatric Rehabilitation has been running public information and awareness campaigns on mental health for more than a decade now. The intention is to eradicate the stigma attached to mental health and let each individual lead a life with dignity.

This year, the Coronavirus pandemic has had a major impact on people’s mental health. Every individual has been affected in some way or the other. The services for mental health and substance use disorders have been disrupted. With our constant endeavor to serve the society, we worked with our full strength in order to minimize the impact. We trust that now people are ready to accept the fact that Mental Health Disorder is like any other health disorder which is treatable.
